We need your help.  We work hard every day to protect women's rights and to expand opportunities for all Michigan women, but there is only so much that we can do without you. We need to add your voice to the voices of others across the state, so that legislators in every corner of Michigan will hear what you have to say. Make them listen by writing a letter to the editor of your local newspaper, a letter to elected officials, testifying before a legislative committee, rallying your friends and neighbors around important issues, or by hosting or attending issue forums in your community. The Progressive Women's Caucus will provide the tools and resources you need to make your voice heard.

Find your Representatives

Find your Representatives

Regardless of the issue, communicating with your elected representatives is essential to our democracy working properly. Find YOUR representatives along with their contact information so that you can call or write their offices to advocate for or against issues that matter to you.

Write to your local newspaper

Write to your local newspaper

Advocacy goes far beyond contacting your elected officials. Spreading the word about issues to others is equally important. Use your local newspaper's Opinion Pages or online comments to voice your opinion and create awareness about issues. Use this tool to find your local newspapers where you can submit Letters to the Editor.

Testify before a committee

Testify before a committee

When a bill is scheduled on the committee's agenda for consideration, and if you have an active interest in the legislation and believe there are contributions you can make to the committee's process, you may decide to testify at either a meeting or a hearing. The purpose of testimony given should be informational so that committee members can vote on the bill with as full an understanding as possible of all sides of the issue it addresses and the consequences of its passage.
